A COLLECTION of new homes will go on sale at Redrow’s latest development in Leyland in January 2020 on the edge of the popular Worden Park.

Worden Gardens will feature more than 200 homes from the housebuilder’s award-winning Heritage Collection.

Set amid open countryside, on former farmland on the edge of Leyland, the venture is perfectly placed for residents to enjoy the best of town and country living.

The development will include a significant extension of Worden Park to create a parkland area around Shaw Brook. This will expand the park boundary adjacent to the development, creating an improved area for new and existing residents to enjoy.

Building work at the 28-acre site, off Leyland Lane, started earlier this year. The development will be built in four phases and boast a range of two, three and four-bedroom homes, with architecture inspired by the Arts and Crafts movement.

Lesley Myers, sales manager for Redrow Homes (Lancashire), said: “Worden Gardens offers a great work life balance. Situated on the edge of Leyland, surrounded by fields, yet within easy reach of nearby towns and cities, it’s great for commuters, couples and families.

“Worden Park is on the doorstep and we’re contributing to an extension of the park next to the development around Shaw Brook, so there are plenty of open places for residents to relax and play.”

The 232-home development will include 48 brand new affordable homes ensuring it contributes a good mix of much needed private sale and affordable homes to the Lancashire market.

A number of existing hedgerows and mature trees will be retained around the homes to ensure the development has a well-established feel.

Lesley added: “We have a strong reputation for building desirable developments and quality family homes in the area with The Hedgerows development across town nearly complete.”

As part of the planning agreement, Redrow will contribute £1.9 million towards community infrastructure, £1.2 million to off-site affordable housing provision, and £123,000 to extend Worden Park.

Leyland has excellent commuter links to Preston, just six minutes away by train, and both Liverpool and Manchester can be reached by direct trains in 45 minutes from Leyland Station or 30 miles by road. There is a good choice of primary and secondary schools within close reach as well as a supermarket, smaller shops, health centres and pubs.

The 150-acre Worden Park offers fun for all of the family with an adventure playground, crazy golf, a hedge maze and a Georgian walled garden.

The first homes will be released at Worden Gardens at the end of January, priced from around £285,000.
